ABOUT US
What we stand for…
* Mission statement: Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
* Vision: We are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities worldwide.
* Core values: The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness.
What we do…
Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

UPDATES & REMINDERS
* All hours will be submitted digitally this year, through our new website @ tinyurl.com/middlecreekkeyclub.

* You should check-in at each meeting with your grade level representative to get an update on your hours count for the semester.

* You need to keep a personal log of hours for your own records, aside from submitting the hours online.

* You must have verification contact information for each service project you complete – we will be following up with supervisors to verify service.

* While attendance at monthly meetings is not required, it is highly encouraged. We will be doing monthly club service projects at the meetings, so we highly encourage you all to attend each meeting!

* Join your grade level remind and follow us on Instagram (@middlecreek.keyclub).

* T-shirts will be ordered by tomorrow afternoon. An announcement will be sent out when the T-shirts have arrived.

*At every meeting, you can fill out two Teacher Kudo Forms max. Each one equals one hour of service, and please right genuine kind comments.

*We have a new “award” we’re using this year…you can become a “Club Member with Distinction” if you attend at least 5 of our monthly meetings and meet your hour's requirements for both semesters. This means you’ll have to sign in with your Grade-Level Rep for each meeting!
*Final Reminder – all January hours must be submitted by Friday, January 17, 2020
*To turn in hours, ensure that all hours have been logged online using the google form from our website (tinyurl.com/middlecreekkeyclub).
*See your grade level rep to check your hours at the end of today’s meeting!
*You must get 10 hours for Key Club sponsored projects, at the very least! 25 hours total, per semester. Extra are welcome!
2019-2020 MEETINGS
Meetings are planned for the first Thursday of each month and will run from 2:30 – 3:00. Members attending the meetings need to ensure that they have transportation plans following the meeting because students are not allowed to remain on campus, unsupervised, after a club meeting. Meetings will vary in location throughout the year so make sure to pay attention to the remind.

RULES & REQUIREMENTS
* Key Club members complete 25 hours of community service per semester, for a total of at least 50 hours in a school year. At least 10 hours per semester must come from Key Club (in-club) sponsored projects.

* All hours should be entered by individual club members, using the Hours Google Doc, under the “Hours” tab above.
* It is your responsibility to keep up with your hours throughout the semester. All hours for the semester are due the last instructional school day of that semester.

* In order to earn a cord for graduation, you must be in “good standing” for n number of semesters. (n = the number of years you’ve been in Key Club, plus one.) Example, if you’ve been in Key Club 3 years, you must have been in “good standing” for (3 + 1) four semesters. “Good standing” means you’ve met your hours requirement.

* If you sign up for a project and cannot attend, you must notify your grade level representative, the club president, or Mrs. King. If you sign up and do not attend without notifying someone twice in a single semester, you will be removed from Key Club.
